Cripps Stone Barn Cotswolds Wedding with Jess and Joe

“Sheryl is fantastic, she’s so friendly and easy going. Also she is amazing at getting a huge wedding party doing as they are told during the group shots! We are so glad we were lucky enough to book her for our wedding she captured our day the best way we could ever of imagined. Her style of photography is beautiful.”

Jess & John-Joe

1st June 2018

 All Saints Church, Cheltenham.

Stone Barn, Upper Windrush, Cheltenham.

“We fell in love with Stone Barn because it was rustic but also really classy.

We also loved how big and open plan it was and the gorgeous views surrounding it.”

It took around about a year to plan the whole day but Jess being a typical girl she had mentally planned her wedding day since a young girl!

How would you describe your wedding day in 3 words?:

Beautiful, intimate and pretty

Jess and Joe met at Junior school aged 8 years old but didn’t start dating until 14 years later even though Jess admittedly always fancied Joe since she was 8!

Joe took Jess to Paris in January as a Christmas present, Jess was completely oblivious as Paris would’ve been too much of a cliche for Joe to propose. Little did she know he was going to! He took Jess for a lovely meal at the top or the Eiffel Tower and then after sat on a bench with a hot chocolate watching the tower sparkle like it did every hour and Joe got down on one knee to pop the question.

How did you choose your photographer?

Sheryl had shot a wedding of one of Jess’ friends which she shared on Facebook and straight away Jess fell in love with Sheryls style and booked her straight away!

 Make up- Holly Power

MUA Hair- Hair by Lauren Cole.

 Mori Lee

 Suits- Regency Groom,  Cheltenham.

Bridesmaids- Dessy dresses @ Willow and Lace, Cheltenham.

Flower girl dresses- Leila Rae, Worcester.

Theme – shabby chic, Colour scheme- We had a few colours but mainly Lavender and gold.

Flowers and venue styling : Teapots and Tiaras

For the theme we decided to go for a shabby chic style with lots of hessian, candles in lanterns and pretty wild flowers. We both love gin and at the moment gin seems quite fashionable and there are some fab bottles which we thought would look great with the flowers and even some fairy lights. Luckily I have a brother who works in a bar, which made collecting the bottles a little bit easier for the amount we needed!

We ate Beetroot and Goats cheese salad, triple cooked steak with dauphinoise potatoes and green beans and Lemon Tart.

Our wedding cake was made by Storyteller  Cakes. A Four tier semi naked cake with 24 carat gold leaf scattered up it. We had 4 different flavours which were chocolate orange, strawberries and cream, blackcurrant and almond and coconut and passion fruit.

VIDEOGRAPHY: We knew straight away we were going to want a film of our day as ever since Jess was a little girl she would always love watching her parents film of their wedding.

It was easy for us to decide on a videographer as one of Joe’s brothers had Sandra Harper do his and we just loved everything about it. I recommend anyone getting married to think of having one done, I’m so glad we did!

Any special moments, mentions or highlights of the day?

Our wedding vows, our couple photos with the stunning views and beautiful setting sun. The confetti throw walking through the walk way.

We were so excited to have the gorgeous blog, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings feature our day!! Read it here

We also had a pre wedding shoot as we are both very awkward when there is a camera in our faces. It was a good chance to meet her and get a feel of what it was going to be like being photographed by her. We are so glad we did this as neither of us were conscious of the camera on our wedding day as well as having some more beautiful photos staring our little sausage dog!
