When Kate messaged me about booking her wedding photography in the next FOUR WEEKS, I thought she was mad. It was AUGUST!! Luckily they went for a Sunday and managed to pick up some pretty awesome suppliers! Including me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lyde Court, Herefordshire

What made you decide to get married where you did?

I had been following Lyde court for so long, its absolutely stunning- the barn, high beams, fairy lights everywhere, the fact you could get married in so many beautiful spots on the grounds……and then they had a last minute offer, and that was it!

How long was your wedding planning process?

A whole 5 weeks!!

How would you describe your wedding day in 3 words?

From the groom and best man ” I can’t remember” it turned into one hell of a party ๐Ÿ™‚

How did you meet?

We met at university a whole 12 years ago

What was the proposal like?

Unbelievable, he had been planning it for so long, we were on a tour of Africa, at the very end of the trip we headed to Zambia and went in Victoria falls. At the very top of the falls in the water, holding onto a rope for dear life Neil went back to the boat for what felt like an eternity, after shouting “where have you been, etc bleep etc” on his way back. He got down on one knee as much as he could, i was so so surprised!! It was just unreal.

How did you choose your photographer?

As soon as I saw one picture of Sheryl’s I knew, and the rest confirmed it, her relaxed style of capturing all the little moments were exactly what i wanted, i wanted to remember the whole day and be able to relive it through the pictures. I still cant quite believe you could do our wedding date.

Dress designer?

I tried a few boutique wedding dresses and they just weren’t what i was looking for, and the short time scale made it difficult. As fate had it i went on a last minute late night dash to monsoon to hopefully find a back up if I couldn’t find “the one”, and I ended up finding the perfect dress right there. It was absolutely meant to be, the last time i was in the same Monsoonย I was with my mum trying on her wedding dress, she passed away just a year later 8 years ago and she was there with me that night. I came home with my dream dress.

And the suit? And bridesmaids?

We went to the high street for everything else too, suits were Next, Bridesmaids dressed were warehouse and the flower girls dressed and max’s outfit were all monsoon too.

Theme or colour scheme?

Rustic

Flowers?

Flowers were by the incredible Kate at Damson and Vine, again she was a total legend for pulling everything i wanted together at such short notice with not even a question about it being possible.

What did you eat?

We ate so many canapes, and sausages! And then the biggest roast beef dinner, and a hog roast…so much food!

And the wedding cake?

The wedding cake was a last minute panic, we ended up getting 2 cakes from Marks and Spencers at the very last second, a rainbow cake and chocolate cake with sprinkles galore. They very nearly didn’t make it to the wedding as they refused to hand them over to anyone but the name on the order, after a tense hostage situation and a lot of bartering and begging by my friends they got the cake and just about made it to the wedding on time.

Any special moments, mentions or highlights of the day?

There were so many, but mainly the people who made it all possible and met the fact the wedding was in 5 weeks with a hell yes we will be there and what can we do to help, it made it a group effort to pull off the day of our dreams and get us married which made it all the more special.

And walking down the aisle with max seeing Neil at the front , the emotion and happiness was like nothing else.
