“We booked Sheryl nearly 2 years before our wedding and from the first moment we met her to meeting her again on our wedding day it was like catching up with an old friend. Sheryl made us all feel at ease the whole day and night. Sheryl was really laid back and let us have what ever photos we wanted, we weren’t standing around for hours having photos taken. Sheryl captured so many moments throughout the day that we didn’t witness, so we can cherish all of these amazing memories and relive our special day. We have had so many amazing comments about our wedding photos, they truly are beautiful. One of the comments we had were they are the best wedding photos they had ever seen.”

Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham
What made you decide to get married where you did?
As soon as Ryan proposed, I was straight on my phone looking at potential wedding venues, I came across Manor by the Lake and loved that it was exclusive and had so many rooms that we could use. The grounds of the venue are so beautiful and I just pictured my wedding day being there. This venue topped all of the other venues we had visited and we booked it straight away.
How long was your wedding planning process?
Just over 2 years, there seemed to be quite a lot of planning at the beginning , then it died down until the last 4 months where it was 100mph.
How would you describe your wedding day in 3 words?
Festive, Magical, Romantic
How did you meet?
We met in school – childhood sweethearts
What was the proposal like?
We had been together for nearly 10 years, we were looking at booking a holiday for a break and I really wanted to go to Cornwall. Ryan had other ideas and kept on and on about going back to Disney In Florida. I gave in (didn’t need to twist my arm too much, as I am a massive disney fan) the second day into our holiday Ryan said he had arranged a nice meal at the Grand Floridian. Me being me didn’t think anything of It as Ryan always liked going for nice meals. We ordered food and he wouldn’t eat anything…I ended up eating his food… and felt a bit put out that he arranged this and he wasn’t enjoying himself. So I said let’s go on the monorail around to the Polynesian and watch the fireworks. We went down to the beach I started filming the fireworks (much to the annoyance of ryan) …finally after 10 minutes of being glued to my phone I decided I was fed up and started to walk back. Ryan rushed around infront of me and said there’s actually something I really wanted to ask you..and it was at that point when the last few fireworks were going off and when you wish upon a star came on over the speakers that he asked me to marry him.
How did you choose your photographer?
I found Sheryl online, we live in South wales and therefore wanted a photographer who was familiar with the area and venue. Sheryl was the first photographer I found and I knew she was definitely the photographer that we wanted. Sheryl’s photos stood out to me more than anyone else’s. They were so natural and the bride and groom in every photo looked like they were actually having fun. Neither me or Ryan are very photogenic and therefore this really appealed to us as the last thing we wanted was to be told to stand in certain positions and spend the whole wedding feeling like it was a chore. Sheryl also shares the same love for Disney as me so I was sold !!
Tell us all about your day please!!!
Who did hair and makeup?
Sandra Elizabeth did mine, my bridesmaids and my mother and mother in laws hair
Zoe Trigwell did mine, my bridesmaids and mother and mother in laws makeup
Both ladies were amazing all morning, couldn’t recommend them enough.
And the suit? And bridesmaids?
The suits were all hired from Dyfedd Menswear and the bridesmaid dresses were from Asos
Theme or colour scheme?
We went for a fairytale/Disney theme with rose gold, blush pinks and bergundy.
Lilyfee floral designs supplied us with all of our beautiful flowers.
Claire was so creative and therefore we were happy for her to work her magic and make our venue look amazing.
What did you eat?
We had 2 choices for each course so we went for the opposites. Starters- apple and parsnip soup with a mulled wine foam, teruel ham with pea mousse, main- fillet steak with potato rosti or Chicken supreme and dessert trifle or sticky toffee pudding
And the wedding cake?
I absolutely loved our wedding cake, it was made by Pontycarlo cakes. It definitely added to our fairytale theme. We had lemon flavour, white chocolate and raspberry and terrys chocolate orange. We had a gorgeous flower wall from tegan designs as the backdrop for our cake which definitely set it off.
Any special moments, mentions or highlights of the day?
I would probably say one of the highlights of the day was our first dance. We didn’t choose our song until about 3pm on the day of the wedding. John our DJ from southwest discos was so patient with us. Half way through our first dance all of our family and friends joined us on the dance floor and we started dancing and singing with them all. Sheryl captured this moment which made for some beautiful photos.
