Birtsmorton Court ~ Rebecca & Josh

“After being shown Sheryl’s work by a fabulous work colleague I was instantly mesmerised! I started following all of her work on social media and added her to my growing wedding scrap book (bearing in mind I wasn’t even engaged yet!). The moment after Josh popped the question and our wedding date was set we contacted Sheryl with every finger and toe crossed to see if she was available, as we know how quickly she gets snapped up!

It was so easy to get in contact with Sheryl throughout the whole planning process and she was always there to give advice. She was even kind enough to meet with me and walk around the venue to discuss where we could shoot on the day! She totally caters for us ‘over excited’ brides!

Sheryl’s advice and recommendations for other suppliers were invaluable and we trusted her completely! She definitely surrounds herself with likeminded and equally amazing people in the wedding industry. On the day of the wedding it felt like having a friend with us, she was so calming and made everyone laugh along the way. She knows exactly what she is doing and effortlessly captures every special moment! So many people told us how great she is as person, she just radiates fun and laughter.

The photos she captured were just incredible and we fall in love with them more and more every time we look through them. We just can’t believe how every detail of the day was shot and these memories will be with us forever. You go above and beyond Sheryl (re-adjusting my veil ten million times and brushing my hair ha!) and Josh and I cannot thank you enough! It’s so obvious how much you care about your couples and we love you so much for it!”

“Clare at LilyFee has been our absolute angel! Flowers were always the top of our agenda when it came to styling and were extremely important to us.

It was always my dream to have a wedding filled with beautiful blooms and Clare achieved it and more. Clare has a natural talent with her blooms and just knew exactly what we wanted even if I did continuously bombard her with Pinterest pictures and descriptions.

Clare cleverly linked up with my Pinterest board and was able to follow what I was pinning everyday. The result of Clare’s effort and work was breathtaking! Every element she created was so overwhelmingly beautiful I sobbed (happy tears).

Myself and all our guests all just felt like we were walking into a magical dream!

Clare made our wishes come true and on top of her talents she is the kindest person who could not do enough for us! We cannot thank you enough Clare!”

“Birtsmorton Court was a simple choice for us. We didn’t look around any other venues and we booked the same day as our viewing. It has everything you could possibly want in a wedding venue, incredibly beautiful grounds with something new around every corner, a gorgeous house with a moat (major princesses vibes!) and a beautiful marquee attached to the barn style bar and dance area.

One of the huge factors was the beautiful church that was right on site. Our Reverand could not have been more amazing and our wedding was so special because of the effort she takes to get to know us and welcome us into the church.

Dawn our wedding coordinator is the most amazing person we have ever met. She could not have been kinder and more organised, alongside Megan and Sophia made our wedding day so special because of their dedication and clear passion for wedding planning!

Birtsmorton is a unique place and has so many special touches for their couples which we could not have received anywhere else.”

Carla & Louise’s Cotswold Wedding

Carla Kelsh & Louise Kelsh

03/08/18

The Swan Hotel, Bibury

Good morning World! I’m sat looking at a rather windy and dreary day over my laptop but have a twinkly Christmas tree in the corner, a 6 year old in his PJ’s watching Christmas cartoons and a huge hound at my feet. With the husband making me a cuppa, life is pretty content. But, I can’t help but wonder where on earth this year went?! How is it nearly Christmas? 2018 has been my busiest year shooting weddings EVER and I am horribly behind on blogging. But that means your social media feed now has some sunshine and flowers and happy faces on it! Yayyy!!

When Carla and Louise told me all about their day, I was super excited to shoot it. What Carla didn’t know was that I was in on the surprises in store and prepared to snap all the shots before the big reveal, knowing this would made an amusing pictorial story in their gallery!

I have to say that I laughed til I cried at The Undercover Waiters. Standing in the middle of such fun and happiness makes me feel son very lucky to have an amazing job. Thank you ladies, for sharing your day with us. I can’t wait to see you all next year at Lou’s sisters wedding. Kate, I hope you have some more tricks up your sleeve. You set the bar pretty high here!!

Enjoy! xx

“When we decided to start searching for venues, we looked at a couple in the Cotswolds but the Swan was special! It was just beautiful and the setting was perfect. As soon as we drove round the corner and saw it we knew it was the one for us. We hadn’t even been inside at that point!

We got married almost exactly a year to the day that we got engaged.
“Best Day EVER!!”

We met playing football together many many years ago. We met again later in life and the rest is history!

The proposal was an unbelievable surprise! Despite my regular nagging, Louise had always said she would never get married again and I had almost given up hope that we would get married. Then Louise took me away for a weekend to Bourton-On-The-Water, one of our favourite places. Whilst sitting on the grass by the river enjoying the sunshine she handed me a champagne glass engraved with “will you marry me”.  It was perfect and caught me totally off guard!

We decided we wanted a documentary style photographer. After searching the web and scrolling through numerous portfolios we found Oobaloos and we were sold. The style was exactly what we were looking for and the quality of Sheryl’s work really stood out.

We decided we didn’t want big, fancy dresses, we wanted a nice relaxed day so we both  bought different high street dresses from Chi Chi London and DKNY.

Our flowers were lilac and cream but we didn’t really have a colour theme as such. The theme for the day was a chilled out and relaxed summer wedding. We wanted everyone to be comfortable especially in the scorching summer we were having.

Aqua Florist created our beautiful bouquets. They looked amazing and were exactly what we wanted. She also made thank you bouquets for our mums to match ours which was a nice touch.

We had Pimms and afternoon tea as canapés after the reception which was lovely and a bit different from the standard wedding canapés.

The wedding breakfast was Ham hock terrine, Roast Beef with all the trimmings and an amazing chocolate Brownie.

Our wedding cake was made by a close friend of ours with alternating tiers of chocolate and Victoria sponge.
We showed her a design we liked and she recreated it. It looked amazing and was twice as big as we imagined it would be!

The duck race supplied by Aqua florist was also a big hit with the guests. The kids loved throwing their rubber ducks into the stream and chasing after them along the bank. My nephew got a bit too carried away though and fell in!

Louise’s sister booked The Undercover Waiters to perform at our wedding. Whilst Lou was in on the surprise I had absolutely no idea what was happening! They were brilliant, they got everyone up singing and dancing. We even had a conga line around the room, while the tourists gazed in through the window in total disbelief! Very hard to follow that with my speech though!”

Mr & Mrs H tie the knot at Lyde Court, Herefordshire

When Georgie contacted me nearly 2 years ago, saying she wanted an Alternative Wedding Photographer, I knew we were  match made in heaven. She saw my style before I was even sure what my style was! As the day came closer and we met up at the stunning Lyde Court in Herefordshire, I got ridiculously excited about shooting hers and Andy’s wedding.

Lyde Court have managed to clean the barn up JUST ENOUGH to smarten it for weddings but have very cleverly kept it rustic and un tampered enough to preserve all its charm. It is a delightful place and I can highly recommend it.

The day started in a flurry of activity in both camps. The girls twittered and frittered whilst the boys were cool, calm and collected! I could feel some nerves in the air. The second Georgie arrived at Andy’s side the nervous atmosphere broke and Georgie’s infectious bubbly personality took over!

Georgie and Andy were high school sweethearts and they are so easy to be around as a couple. Their friends are very very important to them and had just as much importance on this day as their family. They were definitely surrounded with love.

Have you ever seen a Rodeo Sheep? As Shepherd was a maiden name in Georgie’s mum’s family, a SHEEP was ordered. As you can imagine this caused hilarity and i got some corkers of pics of various guests, young and old trying to beat the clock and stay on the sheep.

In the evening, Wish Upon a Sparkle arrived sprinkling fairy dust and glitter and a festival atmosphere becoming apparent with the dance floor filling with House music and a rave began!

I would like to thank Georgie and Andy and all of their friends and family for making me feel so very welcome. I wish you all the best luck in the world!!

Oobalove,

Sheryl
